Sunless by necessity
Some clients come to deSoleil after a dermatologist’s warning, a doctor’s advice to give up tanning beds, or a season of treatment that changed how their skin handles the sun. A spray tan involves no UV at all, so it brings back the warmth of a tan without the exposure. If you have a health concern, your doctor has the final word, and Jana will plan around whatever they advise.
I used to use UV tanning beds regularly until my doctor told me I had to stop. Finding deSoleil was a total lifesaver.

A tan without the sun
A spray tan involves no UV at all. It forms in the very top layer of skin, the layer that is naturally on its way to being shed, which is why it fades so gently as your skin renews. That is why many clients who have been told to stay out of the sun find they can still feel like themselves in a sundress, at a wedding, or on a long-awaited trip.
What to know before you book
None of this is a hurdle. It is simply what Jana would like to know, so she can plan your tan around you.

A spray tan is color, not sunscreen, so keep wearing yours whenever you’re outdoors. Your usual protection stays part of every day.
Jana has tanned expecting and nursing clients for nearly two decades. Check in with your doctor first, then let her know so she can plan around you.
Microneedling, laser treatments and dermaplaning should be fully healed before a tan. Your provider can tell you when.

A gentle, unhurried appointment
Every appointment begins with a conversation about your skin, your history with the sun, and the depth that feels right. Nothing is hurried, and nothing is sprayed until you are comfortable.
Your first visit
Six unhurried moments, the same ones every first-time client walks through, planned around your skin and whatever your doctor has advised.
Jana is mature and nonjudgmental, and she has tanned clients through every kind of season in life.

Moisturize daily and drink plenty of water, exfoliate gently with exfoliating gloves every day and again that morning, and shave or wax at least a day ahead. Come in clean and dry, with nothing on your skin: no lotion, oil, deodorant or makeup.

Your skin, your history with the sun, anything your doctor has said, and the depth that feels right to you.
A lighter first tan can be built over a visit or two, with no pressure to go deeper. Jana may suggest a skin-caring formula such as Unity NR, with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.
About twenty minutes in a private room, at your pace, with every turn explained before it happens.
You leave with your rinse time written down. After that, the wedding, the long-awaited trip or simply a bare-armed summer is yours again, with nothing asked of the sun.

Caring for your tan
Afterward, moisturize every day with a hydrating lotion, pat dry rather than rub, and keep showers lukewarm. Your tan then fades softly and evenly, and the full Bronze Protocol covers every step in between.

The Spray Tan Checklist
First tan or fiftieth, a good tan becomes a beautiful one in the shower a few days before. This checklist keeps every step on one printable page, so nothing is left to memory before a trip, an event or an ordinary Thursday.

No UV, ever
Book online at least 12 hours ahead, or text Jana first if you would like to talk it through.

Your tan is doing its best on its own. A little help at home keeps it going well into week two, and Tan Me BB Cream, the shop's most-loved product, is a lovely place to start.
