Most tans last 7–14 days, depending on: your shower routine, moisturizers, workouts, ocean or pool exposure, skincare products. Daily hydration is the key to a long, even fade.

48–72 hours before: Complete waxing or laser hair removal (minimum 48 hours prior). Exfoliate your full body using a mitt or exfoliating scrub. Begin daily moisturizing with a petroleum-free, oil-free formula — hydrated skin holds color longer and fades more evenly. Day of: Exfoliate again in the shower, then arrive with completely bare skin — no moisturizer, deodorant, perfume, or any product applied after showering. Remove all jewelry before arriving. Product residue on the skin at application blocks DHA absorption and is the most common cause of patchiness. Arriving product-free is the single most important thing you can do.

Not during your development window. Sweat introduces moisture that disrupts the DHA reaction mid-development and can cause streaking before the tan has fully set. Wait until after your first rinse, then ease back in gradually. Pat dry after workouts and reapply moisturizer immediately — sweat and friction are the two fastest ways to shorten a tan's lifespan.
