A softer canvas
A lighter depth sits gently on fine lines, and an even tone softens the look of discoloration, so the result reads as a rested, sunlit version of you rather than a tan.

For mature skin · Hydration first
Your skin has earned a softer hand. Hydration comes first, the formula is chosen to read as your own complexion, and the aftercare is written in the language of comfort, not rules. The sleeveless dress for the anniversary dinner is back on the table.

Your first visit
Every appointment begins with a real conversation about hydration, undertone and what feels right to you. No formula is chosen before you have spoken. Jana has tanned clients through every age and stage of life, and every appointment is unhurried and respectful from start to finish.
This guide is a short, plain page for clients whose skin has changed with time, with every term explained as it comes up.
As a woman in my late 60s, stepping into a spray tanning booth sounds like a total nightmare. But my daughter booked this for me before our anniversary cruise... Jana is mature, respectful, and completely nonjudgmental. She knew exactly how to treat my drier skin.
Why the plan adapts
Three small things, planned with you, make the difference between a tan that looks done and one that simply looks like you, on your best day.

A lighter depth sits gently on fine lines, and an even tone softens the look of discoloration, so the result reads as a rested, sunlit version of you rather than a tan.

Skin that has been moisturized steadily for a few weeks takes color evenly and softly. When it is dry, the tan shows that first, because the color lives in the outermost layer.

Rubbing is a form of exfoliation. Patting dry with a soft, dark towel is the smallest change, and it matters. Jana walks you through it before you leave.

In plain English
None of this is complicated, and none of it is a reason to hold back. It is simply what makes your tan look soft and believable from the first day to the last.
Gentle exfoliation clears the dry surface cells that would otherwise catch extra color, and steady moisturizing keeps the skin underneath soft and even. Together they do more for your tan than any formula choice.
With time, skin renews more slowly and tends to be drier, and drier spots drink in more color. That is why a tan can look deeper on elbows, knees and hands, and why Jana often starts a shade softer and builds from there.
Thin, crinkly skin on the arms, chest, knees or hands is something Jana has worked with for nearly two decades. She adjusts the depth and the way she applies the color, so it settles softly instead of gathering in fine creases.
Preparation, gently
The ideal, not a rule. A little water, a little moisturizer, exfoliating gloves in the shower, and the rest goes easily.
Exfoliating glovesLight pressure, every shower
Moisturize every day and drink plenty of water. This is the single most useful thing you can do before a tan.
Textured exfoliating gloves with light pressure, daily, including the morning of your appointment. Give elbows, knees, ankles and the backs of the heels a little extra attention.
You do not need to stop anything on your own. Retinoids and exfoliating acids speed fading, while niacinamide and hyaluronic acid are generally kind to a tan. Anything prescribed is a question for your doctor.
Clean skin, with no product, lotion, oil, deodorant, perfume or makeup on areas being tanned. The appointment itself takes about twenty minutes, with Jana guiding each step.
Unity NR rinses at 2, 4 or 6 hours depending on depth, and Jana gives you your time. Lukewarm water, no soap, and a soft, dark towel to pat dry.
Moisturize regularly with a hydrating lotion, without exfoliating acids. Shorter, cooler showers, and sunscreen whenever you are outdoors. Pools and the ocean wait 24 hours, then swim as you like.
Unity NR is often a good fit: it pairs the tan with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and peptides, and its neutral guide color reads as your own complexion. Bronze Organics is the certified organic option, with a warm golden tone that brightens dull or ashy skin. Jana chooses with you at the appointment.

Aftercare
Two short lists: what helps, and what to save for later. Neither asks for anything dramatic.

The Spray Tan Checklist
First tan or fiftieth, a good tan becomes a beautiful one in the shower a few days before. This checklist keeps every step on one printable page, so nothing is left to memory before a trip, an event or an ordinary Thursday.
