Ultra Dark

The deepest

The deepest tan in the studio, built in two coats.

A very deep, competition-stage tan, applied in two coats in a single sitting. It's made for competitors, dancers and anyone under stage lights, and for seasoned tanners who already know they want to go dark.

Full body$85
  • 01Rinse at 8 to 12 hoursOvernight gives the deepest result.
  • 02Fully developed in a dayIt keeps deepening for about 24 hours.
  • 03Lasts 7 to 14 daysDepending on preparation, aftercare and time in the water.

Who it suits

Seasoned tanners, and anyone under bright lights.

Under stage lights a lighter tan simply disappears; Ultra Dark holds its depth there. It isn't meant for a first tan, and Jana reviews your skin and tan history at the start of every Ultra Dark session.

Competition and the stage

Deep and even, never brassy.

A violet guide color and erythrulose keep the depth cool and even, so it never turns brassy under bright lights, and the two coats go on without streaks, a technique that takes an experienced hand.

If another formula will look better on you or for your event, Jana will tell you, because the goal is the right tan, not simply the darkest one.

Reading your skin

Deep, and chosen with care.

Ultra Dark is built for depth, so Jana reads your skin and your tan history before she begins. This is how it tends to sit.

  • Fair skinUltra Dark is not usually the first formula Jana reaches for on very fair skin. If another formula will look better on you, she will tell you, because the goal is the right tan.
  • Medium and olive skinSeasoned tanners who already know how their skin takes color are the natural fit. Jana reviews your skin and tan history at the start of every Ultra Dark session.
  • Deeper skinSunless tanning on deeper skin is used less to darken and more to even tone and add luminosity, so depth is discussed carefully, and the stage lighting is part of the conversation.
  • Pink, red, bluishCool undertoneA violet guide color and erythrulose keep the depth cool and even, so it never turns brassy under bright lights.A natural fit
  • Neither warm nor coolNeutral undertoneThe most versatile undertone, and a comfortable one for a cool, deep finish.A natural fit

How it works

Tan in the evening. Rinse in the morning.

Ultra Dark develops overnight, and the overnight rinse is what gives it its full depth.

Overnight: the full depth

Tan in the late afternoon or evening, change into something loose and dark, and rinse when you wake. Overnight gives the deepest result.

Ultra Dark is for seasoned tanners and the stage. For a first tan or an everyday tan, Jana will point you to Rapid Development or Bronze Organics instead.

  1. 01Two coats with JanaShe reviews your skin and your event, then applies two coats in one sitting, shading where it flatters and keeping wrists, ankles and hands seamless.
  2. 02A violet guide colorThe tint you leave with shows where the tan went and keeps the depth cool, never brassy.
  3. 03Hydration under two coatsTwo coats ask a lot of skin, so comfort is built in: the formula keeps skin soft and smooth while the depth develops.
  4. 04Your morning rinseA brief, lukewarm rinse with no soap, 8 to 12 hours later, washes off the guide color only. The tan underneath keeps developing.

Your first 24 hours

Two coats, one night, a stage-ready morning.

Ultra Dark is built over one appointment and finished overnight. Here is the stretch from the studio to the stage lights.

  1. In the roomA private room, then two coats

You change in a private dressing room, and Jana works with one client at a time. The two coats go on in a single sitting, each turn explained before it happens.

  2. Heading outDark, loose, and nothing pale

The violet guide color keeps the depth cool, and it can rub onto fabric before your rinse, so wear dark, loose clothing home and keep anything pale or fitted for another day.

  3. OvernightSleep through the development

Dark sheets and loose sleepwear, no tight waistbands, and nothing hard on the schedule. The overnight rinse is what gives this tan its full depth.

  4. Your morning rinseRinse, then pat dry

Use a dark towel and keep it gentle. The guide color washes away and the deep, even tan stays.

Rinse at 8 to 12 hoursFully developed in about 24 hours

  5. By the next dayFully developed, ready to be seen

The tan finishes about a day after your appointment, which is why competitors book one to two days before they compete.

Normalize Treatment

Sprayed on just before your tan, a blend of aloes that evens out the drier, more porous spots, like elbows, knees and the tops of your feet, so they tan at the same pace as everything else. A small step that shows up later, in how evenly your tan fades.

Under the surface

Built in layers, on purpose.

Two coats, a slower sugar and a cool guide color: here is the plain-English version of what makes Ultra Dark so deep.

  1. Two coatsThe tan is DHA, a simple plant-derived sugar, laid down twice in a single sitting. Doing it without streaks takes an experienced hand.
  2. The slower sugarErythrulose, a sugar found naturally in red raspberries, reacts more slowly than DHA, which softens the first color and supports a gradual, even fade.
  3. The comfortHyaluronic acid and aloe keep skin soft and comfortable under two coats, while peptides keep the surface smooth, with vitamins A, C and E.

  1. Before you come inExfoliate gently with exfoliating gloves each day, the morning of your tan included, and shave or wax at least a day ahead.
  2. When you arriveClean, dry skin: no product, no deodorant, no makeup, no lotion, no oil.
  3. After your rinsePat dry, then a hydrating lotion morning and night keeps the fade slow and even.

Questions

Before you book it.

What competitors and performers ask most, answered plainly.

Is this the deepest tan you offer?

Yes. Ultra Dark is a very deep, competition-stage tan applied in two coats, with a rinse after eight to twelve hours. Jana talks it through with you at the appointment.

When should I train before I tan?

Do your workout before your appointment, because sweat before the first rinse can disturb the developing tan. After the first 24 hours, train as you like, rinsing promptly after swimming and moisturizing afterward.

What if something is not quite right?

Let Jana know within 24 hours and she will take care of it. She keeps notes on every client, so your next tan can be set to the depth you prefer.
